A Paralegal is a person qualified through education or work experience to carry out certain aspects of legal work that requires knowledge of the law and procedures. He or she is not a qualified solicitor or barrister.
Paralegals are being relied upon to fill many roles within Law Firms and commercial companies. Their duties may involve them working in Conveyancing, Litigation, Company and Commercial.
The role of the Paralegal is crucial within legal services.
As well as Solicitors, many organisations need and benefit from legal assistants who have a broad knowledge of law and procedure. If you have working experience within sectors such as insurance, banking, real estate, courts - see our Placesofwork page - a Paralegal qualification can be invaluable.
There is a significant need for formal training of Paralegals. Most Paralegals begin their careers by learning on the job. This can be a long and protracted route and not many students will get such an opportunity without some legal qualification. We fill the gap by offering necessary entry level courses.
